Maharashtraonline Tips

Hamburg is one of the 16 federal states in Germany. The earliest mention of the city was in the 2nd century A.D. Since then it has been invaded by Vikings, experienced the Great Fire of 1842 and the North Sea flood of 1962, rebuilding each time. Nestled among three rivers, the Elbe, Alster, and the Bille, Hamburg is home to more than 2,500 bridges. Take a drive across the Köhlbrandbrücke for spectacular views of the harbor and HafenCity, then head to the docks for a closer look. This urban development offers shopping and the new, eye catching Elbphilharmonie building, where you can see a live classical music performance. To experience some of the more recent history of the city, drive along the Reeperbahn. This is where The Beatles made their home in the early 1960s, perfecting their music with almost 300 live performances in two years. You can even create your own gastro driving tour and try traditional foods like fish sandwiches with herring and the Franzbrötchen pastry.
